Perfect for Any Traveler
Food
Pastel de Nata and fish fill the restaurants of Lisbon. And caused me to fall in love with the Portuguese capital. It amazes me how fish is so tasty and healthy. The long walks paired with the yummy fish will make any body type happy. Well, except for the pastries. I must’ve eaten over 20 desserts in my 4 days of Lisbon. 4 days of the greatest food I’ve ever had. Any food lover should visit Portugal once.
Beautiful Walks
The pinks of the sunset fade into the reds and yellows of the Portuguese buildings. Walk the ancient cobblestone paths of Old Lisbon and catch a whiff of bakers hard at work. Or walk along the beach listening to the waves crash against the shore. And Dodge white foam as you stare up at the towering limestone cliffs. Portugal is the perfect place to clear your mind.
Weather
Portugal during the winter is perfect. Some days are rainy. Some are chilly. Others are warmed by the sun. During the winter months it can get cold and rainy but features the best waves. When the waves aren’t as great go take a walk in a small village under the sun. Admire all of the baked goods and sweets in the bakery. Or run your hands through the flowers of a small town.

Full of History

Sintra and Tavira
I’ve spent my whole life in the United States where the oldest buildings were made 100 years ago. As I walked along the neighborhoods built before the declaration of independence my mind was blown. Or watch the green hills roll by on a train to Sintra and visit the breathtaking Pena Palace. Or walk in the town square below and find cute little pottery shops. For any history lover Portugal is a must see destination.
For those who love exploring unknown locations. Portugal is the perfect spot. While driving to Spain we found a wonderful little town. Tavira was perfectly placed along the coast of Portugal. Home to an ancient castle covered in green vines and populated by a rainbow of flowers. Walking along the stone streets was like living in a small fairytale or romance novel. Walk along one of the three bridges and watch the river flow by to the strings of the violinist. Taste the strawberries and the juice running down your chin under the midday sun. After crossing, visit one of its art shops. Or give yourself a treat at one a bakery.
Instagramable
Old Lisbon
I spent the first few days of my trip in Old Lisbon. And woke up to the sound of the tram outside my window. Definetley should be near the top of everyones list.
Sintra
Home to many beautiful palaces and the home of a old Spanish King, Pena Palace.
Tavira Castle
The broken ruins of an ancient castle are one of the landmarks of this cute town.

I took almost a thousand photos in Portugal and Spain. Random people, streets, colorful flowers, and beautiful beaches. Everywhere I walked in Lisbon a perfect photo was there. It was clean and breathtaking. Every bench was home to an interesting story and every coffee shop selled beautiful pastries. Every small town is filled with old monuments and wonderful restaurants. The perfect country for anybody with Instagram.

Rides and Waves
Portugal is famous for its surfing scene, a world renowned destination. I’m sure you’ve seen the famous youtube videos of Nazare. The hundred foot waves crashing against the lighthouse. And surfers being thrown against the water as onlookers probably cheer. I got to surf in Portugal for the first time. Let me tell you it’s not as easy as it looks. But don’t skip out.
We drove from the city of Lisbon to the Algarve along the sunny coast. The drive was one of my favorite drives ever. It wasn’t very long but was filled with green rolling hills topped with old crumbling castles. Small towns covered in pink and blue flowers. Small restaurants selling the best fish from their small beaches. Drive anywhere and you’ll find something interesting to see.
